A Pledge for Nonviolent Change in Liberia
Having realized that the vindictive "eye for an eye" custom will
eventually make Liberia a blind nation, I have resolved that, while
there are causes worth dying for, no political cause is worth
killing for. I pledge never to take arms or support any local
or foreign armed groups to invade or depose the Liberian government.
Instead, I will support nonviolent principles through the framework
of democracy. I will endeavor to become an agent of the change I
